Osloya haziran ayında gittiğimde, kararmayan geceler başlamıştı. Önce uyumak sorun oldu. Oslonun en önemli caddesi Karl Yohans Gate. Gecenin bir yarısında Egon cafede akşam yemeği yerken güneş sabit duruyordu, hiç yer değiştirmeden gökyüzünde. Bu benim ilk şaşkınlığım oldu. Ola Bauer Kuzey gözcüsünde, yukarıdaki fotoğrafımda gördüğünüz Ali yazan binadan bahseder vede "bunu görenler şehrin adı Oslo değilde, Ali zannediyorlar der. Ali yazısını görünce heycanlanıp bastım deklanşörüme. Kitaptaki anlattığ Huk beachi görmek için Bygdoy'e gitmek gerekti. Zaten Kon-Tiki "Ra2 de orada" ve Viking müzeleride orada . Fakat Huk beachin turistik olmadığından pek adını duyamazsınız. Meğerse çıplaklar plajıymış. Ben Kon-Tiki Müzesinde Thor Heyerdahl'ın papirüslerden yaptığı bu ev şeklindeki tekneyle okyanusları nasıl geçmeyi başarmış diye hayretle baktım, elledim ve kutladım içimden... Oslo bende derin izler bırakan bir ülkenin Başkenti. İnsanlarının yürümesi alımlı. Hiç dilencisi yok, refah seviyesi yüksek. Fakat herşeyin bir bedeli olduğu gibi onunda bedeli var gibi sanki. Devamlı geceler, devamlı gündüzler. Daha ne olsunki... |

When I went to Oslo in the month of June, the nights that never got dark had begun. Going to sleep was a problem in the beginning. The main avenue in Oslo is the Karl Johans Gate. We were having dinner on Egon sometime in the middle of the night and the sun was hanging up there on our top. Not moving at all. Ola Bauer, in the novel The Forerunner says: “those who are there the first time and see the name “Ali” on that building think that is the name of the city” for Oslo. As you see in the photo, as soon as I saw “Ali” I pressed the camera button. In order to see Huk Beach that was mentioned in Ola Bauer’s novel, we had to take a bat ride to Bygody. Kon-Tiki “Ra2” and the Viking Boats are in that area also. Huk Beach, though, is no tourist attraction. I wanted to see it because I read about it I he novel. It turned out to be more of a nude beach. I visited the Kon Tiki Museum. Saw the cottage shaped ocean craft Thor Heyerdahl made out of papyrus and could not believe it made it across the ocean. I had the opportunity to touch it and admire those who built it. Oslo is the capital of a country I was much impressed with. People walking the streets look handsome and pretty. No beggars. Standard of living is very high. However, everything comes at a cost. The cost of all that wealth is never ending days, never ending nights….Quite a cost! |
