Bir gün, Salt Lake City den Huston'a uçarken, Grand Canyon'u gördüm aşağıda. Kızdım kendime fotoğraf makinamı bavula koyduğum için. İşte bu isteğimi Ekim 2006 da gerçeğe dönüştürdüm. Grand Canyonu gezmek ve fotoğraflamak için Tusayan'da kalmak en uygunuydu. Tusayan küçük bir kasaba oldukça şirin. Yavapai ilk durağımızdı, gözlerime inanamadım. Bir anda şok yaşadım bu muhteşemlik karşısında. Sola giderseniz, Hermits Rest'e kadar 8 point var ve 12 şer dakika aralıklarla otobüsler sizi alıp, sıralı olarak bırakıyorlarki, kendinizle istediğiniz kadar başbaşa kalın diye. Yavapai'den, Desert View arası 25 mil. Rahibeler yapmışlar 1932 yılında Desert View'i. Lipon point'de tarih öncesi insanlar yaşamışlar. Moren Point'e 1540 da İspanyol askerleri gelmişler. Aşağı inmeyi önce başaramamışlar. Daha sonra günlerce plan yapıp, bu yardan aşağı inebilmişler. Grand Point'den aşağısı 4,5 km. Kaibab trailde katır turları için 22 ay öncesinden rezervasyon yaptırmak ve 91 kilodan fazla olmamak gerekiyor. Arizonanın Grand Canyonu Dünyanın en meşhur Canyonu. One day, as I was flying from Salt Lake City to Houston, below I saw the Grand Canyon. I was angy at myself for packing the camera in the luggage. Well, my wish came true in Oct 06. The best way to tour the Grand Canyon and take pictures seemed to be spending a night at Tusayan village. Tusayan is very small but has lots of character. Once we were at the Grand Canyon, we started taking the shuttles to view points. Our first stop was Yavapai. When I looked at the Grand Canyon at the first iew point, I was shocked by the beautiy. If you keep taking the shuttles from one view point to the other in this direction, there are 8 stops, the last being the Hermit’s Rest. When you go in the other direction starting at Yavapai, it is a 25 mile drive to Desert View. The tower here was built by priests in early 30s. Along the way there are
other view points. Pre-historic men lived in Lipon Point. Spanish soldiers came to Moren Point in 1540. It took them days to figure out how to get to the bottom of the canyon from here. From Grand point to the bottom of the canyon measures 4.5 miles. You can go from Grand Point to the bottom on Kaibab Trail on mules. Reservations are required 22 months in advance and you cannot weigh more than 200 lbs. Grand Canyon of Arizona is world’s most famous Canyon. You now have an idea if you have not been there. |
