The deep green, beautiful little fish restaurants and unspoiled locals are the things that attract me to Amasra. Being only 3.5 hours drive to where we live, it is a very comforting break for us whenever we get the opportunity. I like the Roman wall and the street where the wood crafts shops are. In these shops, you see how pieces of wood turn into objects of art. The number of hotels and pensions has increased recently. I still recommend reservations in advance. Amasra has been the stage for a number of Turkish movies and TV series in the recent years. This has just increased its publicity. Amasra deserves to be admired. If you have not seen it yet, I say you ought to. If you happen to be there on the day when they have the outdoors vegetable and food market, make sure to buy some local breakfast food and those fresh green vegetables. |
